At this year’s Easter, thanks to Pixual, Nikolas and I took a flight to Barcelona to join the OFFF Festival. We feel so grateful to have been part of this event, meeting creative people from all over the world and reigniting our creativity.

Tip: OFFF is a bustling festival, but let's look on the bright site: it’s a fantastic place to meet wonderful and creative individuals. However, if you want to avoid long queues to get your bracelet-pass, here’s a simple tip—be an early bird! Arriving before the opening allows you to swing by the box office and grab your pass hassle-free.

What does OFFF mean? As one of the creators of the main OFFF titles beautifully put it:
"This festival is like an oasis of arts and cultures; we all come here to refuel our creative juices and get inspired."

The festival featured rounds of talks and screenings, with speakers sharing insights into their creative processes across fields like animation, branding, illustration, visual, interactive, and motion design.

One of the most optimistic and amiable speakers was Lobulo, who shared this poignant advice:
"Love means everything—not the cheesy kind of love, but love for your work and for yourself. Because if you don’t love yourself, no one is gonna do it for you."
His papercraft designs and meticulous attention to detail were truly inspiring.

Another highlight was meeting the legendary David Carson. He signed our posters, and although he had a bit of trouble understanding my name, we shared a laugh, and he even complimented how unique it sounded. His youthful energy and talent were infectious.

We also had the pleasure of watching the film “Rams” by Gary Hustwit, a tribute to the iconic designer Dieter Rams. The documentary highlighted Rams’ 10 principles of good design, which continue to shape modern design thinking:

2. Good design makes a product useful
3. Good design is aesthetic
4. Good design makes a product understandable
5. Good design is unobtrusive
6. Good design is honest
7. Good design is long-lasting
8. Good design is thorough down to the last detail
9. Good design is environmentally friendly
10. Good design is as little design as possible

Conferences, inspiring talks and screening, new talents, hands-on look at the new design technology, festival vibes, goodies from local food trucks, cold beers under the hot Barca’s sun. OFFF combines inspiration and fun.
